The educational program shall equip students with knowledge and methods to address complex environmental problems in science and practice from an interdisciplinary viewpoint. The group offers lectures and seminars in Ecosystem Services, Globalization of Economies and the Environment, Land Use and Land Cover, Agricultural Environmental Law, Environmental History as well as Research at the Natural and Social Science Interface. Practical courses are offered in ecosystem services assessment of landscapes and Life Cycle Assessment.
Each academic year we offer courses mainly to students of M.Sc. Global Change Ecology and M.Sc. Geoecology, but also for the M.Sc. Environmental Geography, M.Sc. Human Geography, B.Sc. African Development Studies and M.Sc. Food and Nutrition Sciences. The courses are open to students from B.Sc. International Economy & Governance and M.Sc. Philosophy and Economics. We also contribute to the complementary sudies in Environmental Law.
The Doctoral Programme in Ecology and Environmental Research PEER of the University of Bayreuth allows PhD students to take advantage of a mentorat, a roadmap for the doctoral thesis and acquisition of key qualifications.
