Current Research:

Land use decisions in agriculture have an essential impact on the ecosystem services a landscape can provide. Within the project AgentDNDC (BioTip Program, BMBF) I want to analyze the socio-economic and environmental feedbacks that lead to conversion of grassland to cropland. The study mainly focusses on selected areas in Bavaria (Franconia and prealpine regions). In the long run this projects wants to support decision making of policy makers on various levels to optimize the effectiveness of agricultural policy measures that are designed to improve the provision of ecosystem services.
