Current Research:

My research focuses on evaluation of ecosystem services (nature's contributions to people) using the Soil and Water Assessement Tool (SWAT) by developing SWAT models for watersheds in Bavaria. The goal is to apply an index approach to each ecosystem service in order to enable a direct comparison of watersheds with varying characteristics in terms of runoff and streamflow, catchment size, land cover and others.

I am also interested in quantitative, as well as qualitative social science approaches for the evaluation of recreational/cultural ecosystem services, focusing particularly on rehabilitated/re-naturalized areas.

Theses

Comparison of the environmental impacts and electricity production potential of Zea mays L., Silphium perfoliatum L. as inputs in biogas electricity production, and solar photovoltaic electricity production.
